Carla's research activities include end-to-end service orchestration and automation, distributed systems, and cloud resource management using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML).
Carla joined Ericsson in 2021. From 2019 to 2021, she was a postdoctoral research fellow, working on different aspects of distributed edge cloud orchestration such as workload placement with specific hardware requirements and life cycle management.
During her Ph.D studies, she worked on large-scale Internet of Things applications including the design of distributed IoT gateways using Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Software Defined Networking (SDN).
Carla holds a Ph.D. degree in Information Systems Engineering and an M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Concordia University in Montréal, Canada.
