Erik Westerberg

With 24 years at Ericsson R&D, Erik has contributed to four generations of mobile systems and holds more than 50 patents in the area. As Chief Network Architect Erik presently oversees the evolution of the 5G Radio access network architecture. In his career Erik has worked with feature development, field trials, standardization, customer collaborations and technology strategy. He holds a Ph.D. in physics from Stockholm University and was before joining Ericsson a postdoc at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, US. Outside work Erik has a strong interest in science and society and is also a passionate discgolf player.
