Fabio Cerone

Fabio is currently General Manager for EMEA Telco at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he founded the Telco Business Unit back in 2019. He joined AWS after an extensive executive experience to scaling large businesses and developing organizations and operational capabilities to deliver software solutions and technology-enabled services across the telecom industry. In his career spanning over 30 years, he has worked at large telecom companies including Ericsson and Telecom Italia, prior to joining AWS. In the last six years, Fabio has established AWS as the reference cloud provider for Telco Service Providers, driving massive technology and cultural transformations, helping customers leverage the AWS Cloud as the engine to foster innovation and velocity at scale. He has driven strategic partnerships with key telco ISVs and network equipment providers, helping them embrace cloud-native and SaaS solutions to develop, operate, and manage software applications across telco functions—including OSS, BSS, Core Network and Radio Access Network—culminating in the first-ever 5G core implementation in a Tier 1 service provider network running on AWS in Germany. He has also been a key stakeholder helping to define the AWS strategy around digital sovereignty to launch and deploy the AWS European Sovereign Cloud in Germany later this year.
