Günther Ottendorfer has a successful career spanning over 25 years in telecommunications leadership. He joined Ooredoo in January 2019 to drive network modernization, the 5G roadmap, and IT transformation, with notable achievements such us great performance for fans at various events, including the world’s biggest sporting events in 2022.
Prior to joining Ooredoo, he worked as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Sprint USA focusing on TD-LTE, small cells and NFV. He also worked with Telekom Austria Group as Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO). And he was the Managing Director of Networks at Optus Singtel Australia's second-largest telecommunications provider where he led the introduction of LTE technology, making Optus one of the first global operators to do so.
He also held various leadership roles, including Technology Director, COO, and CTO for T-Mobile International. In 1996, he co-founded the mobile operator max.mobil in Austria. Ottendorfer studied Computer Science at the Technical University of Vienna.
