Hamed’s research mainly lies in statistical signal processing and machine learning for wireless communication networks. He is the Technical Manager of the Hexa-X project since January 2023.

He received his PhD degree in Telecommunication from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden in 2014. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA in 2016, and a Researcher at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden in 2015.

Hamed is the editor of a book on ‘Machine Learning - Advanced Techniques and Emerging Applications’, and a book on ‘Medical Internet of Things (m-IoT) - Enabling Technologies and Emerging Applications’. He is the author of several journal and conference papers, and the inventor of more than 30 filed or granted patents. Hamed has been the recipient of recognitions including IEEE ICASSP best paper award. He is on the editorial board of the Springer International Journal of Wireless Information Networks since 2015.
