Icaro Leonardo Da Silva
Icaro is currently working on concept development for 6G/5G evolution and supporting Ericsson’s 5G licensing and product development in the area of control plane.
Throughout his career, he has worked primarily with standardization and concept development for LTE and 5G NR, with a focus on control plane topics in 3GPP RAN2. For the latter, he was awarded Ericsson's Inventor of the Year prize in 2019.
In another highlight, Da Silva led the 5G control plane in METIS-II, an EU project on 5G RAN architecture and part of the 5G-PPP framework.
He holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), in Fortaleza, Brazil.
