Jose Outes

Jose is a research specialist, serving as a valuable member of the AI, Technology and Innovation team at Cognitive Network Solutions in BCSS. He is actively involved in the research activities leading to innovative use cases related to network design and optimization. Moreover, he drives the cooperation of the team with academia and other research partners, and contributes to Ericsson's patent portfolio development as an inventor, but also as an expert reviewer in the fields of radio access network and AI.   

Jose has been involved in the development and management of software for network design and optimization for many years until 2019, when he left his position in software portfolio management to pursue his research vocation and joined the AI, research and innovation team in Malaga, Spain. 

Jose earned an MSc in Telecommunication Engineering with specialties in Telematics and Communications from University of Malaga, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialty in Wireless Communications from University of Aalborg. Outside of work, Jose has a strong passion for sports, and maintains a regular training regimen in both indoor and open-water swimming.
