Juan Manuel, as Head of Network Design and Optimization Service Area within BMAS, has the overall global business responsibility for Network Design and Optimization Services business within Ericsson.

With 25 years’ experience in the mobile communications industry, Juan Manuel has a solid international track record of starting, driving and expanding successful businesses at global scale, having held several leadership positions in the wireless industry, such as

• Founder and CEO of Optimi, a global SW and services company acquired by Ericsson in 2010
• Global head of the performance solution area in Nokia
• Global product manager for inbuilding solutions in Motorola

He is the author of 7 international patents in wireless technology, three international publications and co-author of the book GPRS/EDGE Performance: GSM Evolution Towards 3G/UMTS. He holds a Master of Engineering degree in telecommunications.
