Mats Karlsson

Mats is Head of Solution Area BSS within Ericsson Business Area Digital Services. He is responsible for the business which provides software products and services which support over 300 Communications Service Providers around the world with their Consumer and Enterprise :  Charging, Billing, Mediation, Product Catalog, Order Care, Digital Experience and Mobile Wallet requirements. Mats has held several senior managerial positions within Ericsson  since joining the company more than 30 years ago. Most recently he was VP and Head of Solution Area OSS and before that help leadership positions within the Ericsson CTO organization with responsibility for driving product and network architectures across Ericsson as a whole and ensuring Technology Strategy Execution. His experience and insights provide a unique perspective and insights on the network, IT and operational transformation that Communications Service Providers are embarked upon together with the opportunity and challenges of capturing the transformative potential of 5G.

His profile is characterized by a solid experience of both product development and business responsibility. For many years Mats has also been involved in driving and defining Ericsson Technology Strategy as well as Strategy on Group Level.

Mats holds a M.Sc. in Applied Physic and Electronics from Linköpings Tekniska Högskola in Sweden and a M.Sc. in Telecommunications from Aston University, Birmingham in United Kingdom.
