Mats Karlsson is an experienced telecommunications executive and Vice President & Head of Solution Area Business & Operations Support Systems within Ericsson Cloud Software & Services. He leads the global organization responsible for the software products and services that deliver business and operations support systems to more than 300 service providers worldwide.

With a 35-year career at Ericsson, Mats combines deep technical expertise and strategic leadership to drive network, IT, and operational transformation to accelerate the commercial potential of 5G, autonomous networks and differentiated connectivity.

Mats is widely recognized for his unique perspective and insights of the network, IT and operational transformations that underpin 5G monetization and service innovation.

Mats holds a M.Sc. in Applied Physic and Electronics from Linköpings Tekniska Högskola in Sweden and a M.Sc. in Telecommunications from Aston University in United Kingdom. In addition to his role at Ericsson, Mats Karlsson is also part of TM Forum’s Autonomous Networks Mission Leadership Team, focused on advancing Level 4+ automation of network operations across the industry.
