Mattias Frenne is an Ericsson RAN1 delegate for 3GPP standardization. Mattias has received the accolade of “Ericsson Inventor of the Year” in recognition of his role in LTE evolution and the foundation of the 5G NR standard.
Mattias has been a key contributor to 3GPP specifications for both LTE and 5G NR since 2005, mainly in the areas related to multi-antennas. He holds an M.Sc. (1996) and a Ph.D. (2002) in engineering physics and signal processing, respectively, both from Uppsala University, Sweden. In 2016, he received the Ericsson Inventor of the Year award.
