Among her main functions is to be the strategic ally with a role of technological enabler and global vision of leadership in the digital business, supporting the end to end digitalization, as well as the transformation of Telefonica's operating and business models. This allows establishing new business relationship models with its partners and competitors through a digital ecosystem that facilitates co-creation and standardization. Additionally, the definition of the technological architecture and its evolutionary model in the group, the master lines of development, based on the evolution of the industry, customer needs, and the deployment of new technologies and services. The Telefonica ODA architecture with open standards, gives the company the ability to succeed in a digital world, where Business Support Systems, Operation and Online Charging System (BSS/OSS/OCS) are the key to manage and monetize new opportunities on a large scale, and APIs facilitate interaction with customers and third parties, contributing in the same way, in the generation of reference guides to enable the creation of products and services based on global architecture guidelines defined in response to the needs demanded by the OBs or other technical areas.
From 2013 to 2019, Director of Information Technology at Telefonica Venezuela, with focus on planning and implementing local and regional projects, new platforms and IT requirements, which support the business, based on their needs, leading multidisciplinary teams made up of internal resources and suppliers, aimed at software development and maintenance / monitoring and operation of IT platforms (BSS, OSS, OCS, SAP and SVA).
Prior to her experience at Telefonica, Paola worked at CANTV (Compañía Anónima Teléfonos de Venezuela C.A.) in functions associated with the development of IT Products/Services and managing the end to end processes of IT Services provisioning. She started her career in the IT area at PDVSA, the Venezuelan oil company, occupying several positions associated with Strategic Planning and Architecture activities.
Paola studied Computer Science at Universidad Central de Venezuela, where she also obtained a Specialization in Information Systems and Management. At the same university, she was a professor in the areas of Database, BI and Data Management for more than 25 years.
