Paul Challoner, Vice President, CTO Global Customer Unit AT&T , based in Plano Texas, is responsible for all Ericsson technology towards AT&T. He is responsible for delivering the nationwide Network Transformation project for AT&T that represents the largest Open RAN deployment globally ever undertaken. This includes introduction of open interfaces, automation platforms, use of advanced cloud platforms, major modernization of existing equipment and significant swap of other vendors equipment.

Previously Challoner held the role of VP, Network Products responsible for all RAN ( Radio Access Network)  products including 5G and Open RAN portfolios for all North American Customers. Prior to this role, he worked as Head of Product Line Wi-Fi and Head of Ericsson’s CDMA Product Line.

Challoner served as Vice Chair, Board of directors of the OnGo (CBRS)  Alliance , Large Company representative ,for the Board  of the Wireless Innovation Forum and on the Board of Governors for 5G Americas.  He joined Ericsson in 2010 from Nortel where he held executive roles leading the GSM product line, Intelligent Networks and Broadband Wireless businesses. He has global experience working in the US, Canada, France, India and the UK. With 25 years in the telecom industry he possesses extensive industry experience and has innovated bringing numerous radio products to market specializing in the field of wireless communication.

Challoner holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Brunel University, London, UK.
