Per Persson joined Ericsson Research in 2004 where he has been working with multimedia, graphics, and software-as-a-service and is currently involved in IoT and cloud research. Before joining Ericsson he was with Active Control, a startup developing algorithms and tools to reduce vibrations and prevent failures in cutting machinery. Prior to joining Active Control, he was with Signal Control AB, researching and developing active noise and vibration control systems primarily for aircraft and trains. He received his Ph.D. in Signal Processing at BTH, Sweden, in 2003, and his M.Sc. in Engineering Physics at LTH, Sweden, in 1995. His research interests include combinatorial optimization, complex systems behaviour, distributed algorithms, and self-adapting systems. He holds a number of patents, and has published papers in several fields including quantum mechanics, signal processing, combinatorial optimization, applied graph theory, and IoT.
