Petri Laari

Senior Researcher, Internet of Things

Petri Laari

Ericsson Research

Jorvas, Finland

Petri has spent the past eight years working with Internet of Things, his eye on semantic interoperability in IoT systems. Semantic interoperability allows different IoT ecosystems to interoperate automatically and efficiently.

His Ericsson career started in 1993. He has been involved in several internet-related topics, such as Mobile IPv6, Host Identity Protocol (HIP), Information Centric Networking (ICN), and the Internet of Things (IoT). The ICN work mainly focused on IP-less packet forwarding using in-packet Bloom Filters which later resulted in his Ph.D. thesis.

Petri received his M.Sc. in Information Technology in 1994, and Ph.D. in Networking Technology in 2017 from Aalto University (former Helsinki University of Technology), Finland.
