Pınar works with 5G standardization in the 3GPP security working group SA3, where she has been the driver of the studies ‘Enhancements of 3GPP profiles for cryptographic algorithms and security protocols’ and ‘Security aspects of enablers for Network Automation’.
She has also worked on software security, especially vulnerability predictions using machine learning.
Pınar’s research interests include symmetric cryptography, S-box decompositions, counter-measures to side-channel analysis attacks, coding theory, and data science. Before joining Ericsson in 2019, she was a research assistant in the Mathematics department of the Middle East Technical University, Turkey, for eight years.
Pınar received her Ph.D. in 2020 and her M.Sc. in 2013 from the Cryptography Department of the Middle East Technical University, Turkey. She also has a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from the same university from 2010.
