Pontus Åkerström

Pontus Åkerström is the Head of R&D for Ericsson’s mobile transport portfolio, covering routers, switches, microwave and optical networks, and is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Pontus holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and has been with Ericsson since 1999. He has spent his career within R&D and product management, in the areas of IP and microwave transmission.

He leads a global development organization covering Sweden, India, China and Europe.
