Timothy Murphy

Tim Murphy is a researcher in BCSS Common R&D focusing on disruptive technologies. He has been with Ericsson since 1998 holding various R&D technical and research roles. On the telco side he was on the original CDMA MobileIP team and later drove the MMS project as System Architect. Within Digital Services he is a co-author of the Digital Services infrastructure reference design.  Most recently, Tim tracks 5G, XR and Metaverse-related technologies to identify and develop new opportunities for Ericsson.

He is deeply fascinated by immersive virtual spaces and enjoys running multiple systems such as Opensimulator and Vircadia  for “fun”.
