Todd started his career in financial consulting and then moved to Verizon in the United States. In 1998 he joined the Ericsson Group as part of the Ericsson Hewlett-Packard joint venture in Sweden. During his 20 years at Ericsson, Todd has held various senior leadership roles across the company.

Since 1 August 2020, Todd Ashton is the Vice President and Managing Director of Ericsson South and East Africa.  In this capacity he is spearheading the efforts to secure the success of Ericsson’s customers through partnership and performance, the development of talent and the growth of Ericsson’s busines across the continent.

Previously he was the President and Managing Director of Ericsson Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. During his 7.5 years in Asia, Todd lead innovation and developed new capabilities in these markets by building long term and award-winning partnerships with Ericsson customers and other industry stakeholders. Notable examples in Malaysia have been the establishment of the Innovation Centre for 5G together with UTM and the UN-recognized Connected Mangroves project in Kampung Dato’ Hormat. These innovative partnerships are fuelled by Team Ericsson, the most inspiring people shaping our digital future. Todd started his career in financial consulting and then moved to Verizon in the United States.

During his 20 years at Ericsson, Todd has held various senior leadership roles across the company. Additionally, Todd held positions as Adjunct Professor at University Teknologi Malaysia and member of the board of directors of the Malaysian – Swedish Business Association (MASBA). He also previously served as board member for Nanologica in Sweden. Todd was born in Washington, D.C. and has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia in 1996.
