Yinggang Li

Senior Specialist, Microwave and mm-Wave technologies

Dr. Yinggang Li

Ericsson Research

Gothenburg, Sweden

His research covers all levels from RF integrated circuits to modules/sub-systems and complete radios.

Since joining Ericsson in 1996, Yinggang has done hardware research in microwave and millimeter-wave frequency range, primarily targeting wireless links. His main research interest in recent years is in millimeter-wave circuits, modules and systems, aiming for applications of high data-rate wireless, as well as wired links using frequencies towards 300 GHz. His job role also includes project management of both internal Ericsson and external projects such as EU research programs.

Yinggang has authored/co-authored nearly 50 reviewed publications and is the inventor/co-inventor to seven granted patents. He is the co-author to two Best Paper Awards from The European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference (2007) and The European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (2020), respectively. Yinggang served as an Editorial Board member to Proceedings of European Microwave Association (2004-2008), the TPC member of European Microwave Conference (2005-2009), and the Steering Committee member to IEEE-ICC Backhaul/Fronthaul Workshop (2015) as well as to the Swedish Microwave Days (since 2011).

Yinggang received his M.Sc. degree in theoretical physics from Northwestern University, Xian, China in 1985, and his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1993. He was a Research Fellow with Iowa State University, USA, 1993-1995, continuing his theoretical research on atomic movement and growth on metal surfaces.
