ADP, or the Application Development Platform, is a support system for developing cloud-native applications. It is not a one-size-fits-all platform but rather a collection of components including an architectural framework for alignment and coherence, reusable microservices, Cloud Container Distribution based on Kubernetes, a Managed Development Environment, Life Cycle Management with EVNFM, Common Base Operating System, and a CI/CD framework for easy reuse of microservices.
ADP aligns with the software industry direction, enabling faster time to market through easier reuse and leveraging best-of-breed open source components. ADP encourages collaboration and improvement of common assets, allowing developers to contribute to the portfolio by improving existing services rather than creating entirely new ones. The goal is to be open, transparent, and offer reliable and easy-to-use assets.
Our unit in Hungary owns, develops and provides support for ADP microservices in several domains (security, connectivity, data management and monitoring, just to name a few), that are all part of flagship Ericsson solutions such as Packet Core and Cloud RAN. If working on the same microservice for a longer period isn’t your style, we even have teams who’s assignment is flexible and changes every few months.
