The product evolution leads from the native TDM transmission, through hybrid TDM/Ethernet to full Ethernet transmission network (all IP world). The advanced network functions of MINI-LINK units can handle both Layer 2 and Layer 3 traffic. Additionally, its highly accurate network sync capabilities make MINI-LINK 5G enabled. Over its radio link, communications service providers can reach up to 10Gbps speed, which can already serve the needs of 5G networks as well.
MINI-LINK uses Linux as its operating system. The development of the network elements and functionalities can vary:
- quite HW close activities which requires (or gives the possibility to learn) in-depth knowledge of the Linux kernel and drivers with mostly C as a programming language
- networking functionality development on top of the platform the Linux provides. For this C/C++ and knowledge of networking protocols is the major requirement.
- verification of the product is done by a Java-based test framework. CI activities also requires professionals with Python, Jenkins and git experience.
