Ericsson awards

Awards we hand over

Ericsson Award

Here in Hungary, we established an award in 1999 to maintain and raise the traditionally high standard of primary natural science education. The founders of the award are aware that high school mathematics and physics education plays a significant role in the fact that Hungarian technology and natural science graduates have outstanding knowledge compared to other countries in the world.

The Board of Trustees awards this prize to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of mathematics and physics teachers who demonstrate a high level of dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm in making their subjects attractive and accessible for their students, as well as nurturing young talent.

Starting 2024, we are also including Digital Culture (computer science) as a new subject category, in recognition of this discipline's growing importance and relevance in today's world. We believe that computer science education can foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation skills among students, and prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of the digital era.

Professor Rátz Lifetime Award

Since 2000, eight high school teachers have received the Professor Rátz Lifetime Achievement Award for their outstanding achievements in their careers. The Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Hungarian Natural Science Education established jointly by Graphisoft, Ericsson, and Richter, awards excellent teachers every year. Recipients of the award are high school teachers who play a prominent role in making mathematics, physics, biology, and chemistry attractive for Hungarian students and nurture their talents closely related to the founders’ field of expertise.

Our office

Ericsson House

Ericsson House was designed to support collaboration and an agile way of working, with several community places, huddle rooms, open spaces and some private focus rooms.

Our main office in Hungary was built on the bank of the Danube, as part of the first phase of the Hungarian Nobel Prize Winners Research and Development Park. The building was constructed following the LEED Gold environmental awareness rating’s stringent requirements, with a floor space of 24,000 square meter in total. The Ericsson House has one of Hungary’s most advanced and largest server rooms, together with the related R&D labs.

We have a recreation room, medical room, four floors of underground parking places, and a bicycle storage. We have many terraces where you can relax with a cup of coffee or work on your laptop while having a spectacular view on the Danube and enjoy a beautiful park around the building.
