Ericsson and VMware® have signed a global alliance agreement. The two companies are committed to addressing the needs of Communication Service Providers (CSP) who choose to deploy a combination of Ericsson network functions and VMware cloud platforms. The collaboration ensures that a given combination of Ericsson network functions and VMware cloud platforms are tested, validated, and performance-tuned. A joint lab has been created, which involves a rigorous two-part certification and system validation process, and thereby ensures value to CSPs who choose to run software from both companies. Key benefits of this alliance include: Simplified management & operations, accelerated time to market and mitigating risk for CSPs. This alliance will help Communication Service Providers as they make the move to 5G.
This collaboration complements Ericsson’s own offering for cloud platforms running Ericsson applications.
