Cloud RAN, particularly Cloud RAN DU function, places unique requirements on cloud and hardware, such as single server deployment, real-time processing, time & phase synchronization, high availability, and specialized O&M handling.

Since Cloud RAN to cloud and HW integrations are complex and technically challenging, Ericsson conducts fundamental integration of Cloud RAN with cloud and hardware in R&D, delivered to CSPs as Cloud RAN Pre-integrated Solutions. A Reference Configuration of Cloud RAN, cloud and hardware is used in Pre-integrated Solutions. CSPs can deploy the Reference Configuration of Pre-integrated Solution in their network as is. Ericson can also support certain adaptations in the Reference Configuration.

Cloud RAN SI helps implement Cloud RAN Pre-integrated Solutions in CSP network. Cloud RAN SI provides additional flexibility to integrate certain adaptations of CSP’s choice.

Cloud RAN SI bridges the gap between Ericsson Cloud RAN Pre-integrated Solutions and CSP cloud RAN solution.
