Where my Ericsson journey began
My journey with Ericsson started in 2019 as a Master Thesis student. I was drawn in by the chance to work on high-speed networks and contribute to technology that genuinely connects people. When it came time to find my first full-time job, joining Ericsson felt like the natural next step.
What surprised me most was how quickly I felt at home. From day one there was a clear sense of belonging. People here are welcoming, supportive, and open to new voices. That environment made it easy to step into my role as an ASIC Developer and start contributing to the efficient operation of our Radio Units.
I’ve stayed because the combination of continuous learning, meaningful impact, and a collaborative culture keeps me motivated and proud of the work I do.

How I learned, grew, and found my footing
My development at Ericsson has come from a mix of structured learning and real-world experiences. Degreed helped me build skills at my own pace, but the biggest accelerators were the opportunities to take on new roles and responsibilities.
Stepping into the scrum master role taught me how to organise work, prioritise effectively, and communicate with clarity. It was my first leadership experience and made my day-to-day execution more confident.
Serving as co-chair of GenNext, our network for early career talent, sharpened my leadership skills and helped me build relationships across the company. This experience gave me a broader view of Ericsson and helped me understand how different teams work together. By engaging in this network for early‑career talent, we not only amplify professionals’ positive impact on innovation through growth and development, but also foster a sense of belonging within Ericsson.
One of the standout moments was being given the responsibility to manage an internal event at the Kista site. Planning everything from start to finish pushed me to coordinate across teams, refine my interpersonal skills, and stay calm under pressure. Looking back, it was one of the most transformative challenges I’ve taken on here.

The culture that helped me thrive
Ericsson is a place where people genuinely want you to succeed. I felt it early on and I still feel it today. The culture is welcoming, collaborative, and driven by purpose.
Teams make space for new perspectives. Senior engineers and leaders are accessible and willing to mentor. And the emphasis on diversity and inclusion creates a workplace where everyone can grow and contribute.
Working across disciplines and countries is part of everyday life. Through my roles and engagements, I’ve collaborated with colleagues from different backgrounds and time zones to solve meaningful technical and business challenges. That cross-functional experience has shaped how I approach problems and how I work with others.
Staying connected across time zones
Remote work isn’t a barrier for our team. It’s something we treat as a strength. We build structure around our collaboration so everyone can participate fairly across time zones.
At the same time, we make room for the more human side of teamwork. Online fika sessions and informal catch-ups help us stay connected. That mix of structure and personal connection builds trust and ensures contributions are visible and valued, no matter where you’re working from.
Finding purpose through volunteering
Outside my main role, I’ve had the chance to volunteer with Kodcentrum, a nonprofit supported by Ericsson. For example I helped run a six-week LEGO Robotics course for children aged 9 to 13 at the Kista site.
We introduced basic programming concepts and the kids wrote code to control their own miniature LEGO cars. Guiding them through challenges and debugging was incredibly rewarding. Watching their confidence grow and seeing their cars move exactly as they intended was a moment I won’t forget.
Volunteering allows me to connect my technical skills with meaningful community impact. It strengthens my motivation and reminds me why inspiring the next generation matters.

Looking ahead
Connectivity at Ericsson is about shaping how people and devices stay securely and intelligently connected. While much of the world is exploring the benefits of 5G, we're already pushing forward with 6G research and development. The idea of embedding AI across networks to bring intelligence and automation to the edge makes the future of connectivity especially exciting.
What began as a thesis project has grown into a fulfilling, purpose-driven career. I’ve developed new skills, built a strong network, and found a culture that encourages growth in practical, meaningful ways.
