Emma Birchall

Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion

Emma is a champion of harnessing the power of diversity to achieve better results – for people, business, and society.

In her role as Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Ericsson, she is responsible for setting the D&I ambition and strategy, impacting 100,000+ employees in more than 180 countries. Before joining Ericsson, Emma led HSM Advisory, a London-based consulting firm, where she advised CEOs of some of the world’s largest companies on realizing their ambitions through effective and inclusive people strategies.

Emma is the Chair of the London Neurodiversity SEND Employers Network, and a member of the Barclays LifeSkills Advisory Board, both of which are focused on enabling young people from underserved communities to reach their full potential. Emma is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Lawn Tennis Association (the governing body for tennis in Britain), at this particularly important time for diversity and inclusion in sport.

Emma’s academic achievements include a Master’s Degree in Development Studies at Cambridge University and a combined Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from King’s College London and the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.
