Aida Delgado, Head of Build Service Factory

Aida Delgado

"Passion to win" - this is my motto in life and therefore the motto of my team.

Passion to win does not mean winning at any cost, being a deal killer or going over others to get results. Passion to win means working as a team, focus on reaching goals, always with high motivation and the desire to learn and innovate with a smile and having fun.

I am Head of Build Service Factory organization within NMSD CU Iberia, leading a large team of more than 250 people.

Delivering Radio and Tx rollout services is like riding in an exciting roller coaster. We must design against the clock the best solution for each site, guarantee that Hardware is delivered on time, manage access to properties, look for cranes or climbers, bear in mind the weather, ensure that we have the right field force following the regulations of health and safety, coordinate the integration of the nodes in the network and finally, confirm that everything is delivered to the customer with the agreed quality and, of course, with the most competitive costs.

There are always surprises and setbacks: new hardware configurations to develop, access to the site that is impossible to obtain, strikes that block truck transportation, or snowfall that freezes the towers. But it’s heartwarming when you can see the team effort reflected in meeting goals.

I have been working at Ericsson for more than 25 years. I joined the company after finishing my university degree in Economic Sciences.

During my first times in the Company, I worked in the Finance area, which allowed me to deeply understand the backbone of the company. The search to improve margins, the cost control obsession and the feeling of responsibility when the profit and loss report should be presented to top management.

The company also gave me the opportunity to develop my skills at international level and thus meet colleagues from other continents and learn from cultural diversity.

I am a curious person and eager to learn, which is why more than 10 years ago, with my backpack of financial knowledge, I moved to NMSD to lead teams responsible for network deployment.

Surrounded by engineers, strange acronyms, and telecommunications concepts, I was able to discover what the company ultimately does: delivering connections that make the unimaginable possible.

It has been at NMSD where I have had the honor of developing my leadership skills. Motivate, guide, listen, persuade, build, transform, innovate…the work of a good Leader is tough but exciting. If I have learned anything during all these years at Ericsson, it is that to become market leaders our people are the key.

By far, the most I like of working at Ericsson is the opportunities it offers for professional and personal growth. A leading, century-old and global company that fights in one of the most dynamic markets in the economy, and that allows its professionals to grow and develop in a multitude of areas, from the most innovative R&D to the deployment of the most sophisticated connectivity solutions or other areas such as Finance, Human Resources, Sales.

Just one last thought, let’s not forget that the Company is not an ethereal entity, it is made up of people who work and strive together every day. Embracing Ericsson's values of respect, professionalism, perseverance, and integrity is what truly makes us a successful company.
