Telenor Denmark and Ericsson have deepened their partnership by signing an extended field services contract. As part of the agreement, Ericsson will perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities in the mobile and fixed networks in Denmark. The contract ensures continuous improvement of network quality and operational efficiency.

Network performance is one of the most important factors for end-user satisfaction. Catering for this and the growing need for coverage and capacity require constant evolution and network maintenance. To secure a consistent network experience for their end users, Telenor Denmark has signed a field services contract with Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC). With Ericsson correcting faults as they arise, Telenor Denmark subscribers will experience reliable network services.

Under the terms of the contract, which will replace the previous three-year agreement from 2011, Ericsson will deliver corrective maintenance services for Telenor Denmark’s nationwide fixed and transmission networks. Delivery of preventive and corrective maintenance services are also included on the part of the shared mobile network that Telenor Denmark operates – i.e. on more than half of the operator’s sites in the western part of Denmark. The shared network is the largest in Denmark and serves 3.5 million subscribers. Telenor Denmark will also benefit from a new catalogue of service packages, which are designed to enable continuous improvement of network service quality and operational efficiency.

The agreement expands Ericsson’s managed services leadership and footprint across the Nordic market. Ericsson has signed managed services contracts in more than 100 countries and provides managed services for networks that serve more than 1 billion subscribers worldwide.
