Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) today announced that Ericsson Cloud Manager was recently recognized by Pipeline Magazine at their 2016 Innovation Awards gala in Nice, France. Ericsson Cloud Manager was recognized as being the most innovative new product in a current or planned Operational Support System (OSS).

“Winning the Pipeline Innovation Award is clear validation of the innovation approach Ericsson continue to take to support operators,” said Scott St. John, managing editor of Pipeline. “This year’s judging panel included technical executives from companies such as BT, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and Vodafone, who ratified Ericsson’s technical innovative and leadership in Operational Support Systems.”

Ericsson Cloud Manager supports operators as they move to virtualized infrastructures in an effort to lower costs, improve service quality and pursue new business opportunities, and is a key component when transforming the network infrastructure to Cloud and Service Provider Software Defined Networks (SDN). Ericsson Cloud Manager orchestrates and manages the lifecycle of virtualized network functions and associated virtual infrastructure.

“The business case for Ericsson Cloud Manager is centered on the rapid introduction of new services, lower cost of innovation and significant improvements in operational capabilities — all in a secure and controlled way,” said Ove Anebygd, VP and Head of Solution Area OSS/BSS, Business Unit Support Solutions, Ericsson. “Today, most cloud services are typically delivered over best-effort connectivity. Given the increasing demand for service level agreements, the network needs to play a more active role to drive reliability and performance guarantees. Ericsson Cloud Manager allows operators to automatically conform to the more dynamic lifecycle and transient nature of newer services, thereby, creating enhanced customer experience.”

Ericsson Cloud Manager is built upon a proven, carrier-grade software foundation that integrates to and stays in sync with any type of operational environment, and accommodates your requirements dealing with privacy, security and regulatory laws. Its dynamic, model-based provisioning features enable the fluid orchestration of automated and manual activities.
