Ericsson researchers scoop prestigious IEEE wireless communication award
Three Ericsson researchers have been recognized for their contribution to advancing 4G and 5G wireless communications by the prestigious Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) - a network of almost 500,000 engineering and STEM professionals worldwide.
Erik Dahlman, Senior Expert; Stefan Parkvall, Senior Expert; and Johan Sköld, Principal Researcher - all working in Group Function Technology, Ericsson Research, Radio - were awarded the 2026 IEEE Jagadish Chandra Bose Medal in Wireless Communications.
Parkvall is an IEEE Fellow; Sköld is an IEEE Senior Member; and Dahlman is an IEEE Member.
The medals were presented at 2026 IEEE Honors Ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York on April 24.
The three Stockholm-based colleagues, who have worked with every generation of mobile technology during their careers, received the 2026 IEEE Jagadish Chandra Bose Medal in Wireless Communications for “contributions to and leadership in the research, development, and standardization of cellular wireless communications.”
