Umlaut, the global benchmarking company formerly known as P3, gave One Albania the ‘Best in Test’ award, as well as recognized the company for delivering the best-rated broadband coverage and user download experience, despite challenges of the pandemic.

One Albania reached an overall score of 895 out of a maximum of 1,000 points in umlaut’s mobile network benchmarking based on user experience, thanks to Ericsson’s leading mobile technology. For their extensive analysis, umlaut tested and measured 22.6 million samples from 17,900 users over 24 weeks leading up to May 2021.

Emil Georgakiev, CEO of One Albania, said: “Last year we announced that our strategical goal was to become the first choice for Albanian users, ensuring them a superior customer experience. This award is a proof that the decision to modernize our mobile network switching to a leading partner like Ericsson is really paying off. We will continue relentlessly our efforts to provide customers the services and solutions that have a positive impact on their daily lives.”

The recognition is just one year after the announcement that Ericsson had been selected by One Albania as the sole supplier to modernize the service provider’s radio and core networks in a break-in deal spanning five years. Ericsson is upgrading One Albania network capabilities to Gigabit LTE class while also making the network 5G-ready using the latest Ericsson Radio System equipment and Core Network solutions.

Emanuele Iannetti, Head of Ericsson Italy and South East Mediterranean, said: “Many congratulations to One Albania for this great achievement. We are incredibly pleased to have contributed to this as One Albania mobile network modernization unique partner. With our combined dedication to reliable and secure networks and our leading 5G-ready technologies, we will ensure a more sustainable and innovation-driven future for the country.”
