5G subscriptions to reach half a billion in 2022: Ericsson Mobility Report

  • 25 percent of all subscriptions will be 5G in North America in 2022, representing the highest market penetration in the world
  • Mobile broadband to account for 90 percent of all subscriptions by 2022
  • 29 billion connected devices by 2022, of which around 18 billion related to the Internet of Things (IoT)

Far EasTone and Ericsson to enhance mobile broadband and expand cooperation on 5G and IoT in Taiwan

Additional spectrum coupled with Ericsson LTE FDD / TDD technology allows Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) to provide more capacity and increased network speeds. Contract extension includes Ericsson’s LTE Radio, Core and Professional Services to handle increased mobile data traffic and ensure optimal user experience. FET and Ericsson signed new MoU to jointly collaborate in the Transport Industry domain.
