Inventor of the Year award 2025 winners

For 30 years, our annual Inventor of the Year award has recognized Ericsson researchers and engineers for their outstanding contributions to our growing patent portfolio. With more than 60,000 granted patents, our inventors have established Ericsson as a technology leader in the telecommunications industry. The value created by these patents allows us to keep investing in research to further shape the future of global connectivity. Meet this year’s winners.

David Castellanos

A key area of David’s expertise is subscription management, where he develops implementation strategies and supports standardization initiatives. His work covers various areas within 5G Core and IMS, including security and exposure, where subscription management plays an instrumental role. David is also contributing to shaping Ericsson’s 6G standardization strategy. He supports the intellectual property (IP) team by analyzing patents and technology, as well as through his coaching of budding inventors.
