Radio 4891
Ericsson Radio 4891 is a high-power, dual-band FDD radio with 8 antenna ports and 4T8R per band, delivering up to 100 W per port and 720 W total configured output power. This enables improved performance and extended coverage through higher output power and 8 RX, while its reduced weight and lowered embodied CO₂ make it more sustainable, providing >10% energy savings versus previous generations. The radio supports 2G, 4G, 5G and NB-IoT, allowing smooth evolution across multiple technologies on a single unit.
Radio 4891 is Open RAN–prepared, featuring both CPRI and eCPRI interfaces for flexible, packet-switched fronthaul. As part of the Ericsson Radio System portfolio, it combines excellent radio performance and power efficiency and rigorous long-term reliability testing, making it an ideal choice for wide-area 3GPP deployments that demand high capacity, efficiency and future-proof architecture.
