IOH and Ericsson have implemented the 5G non-standalone network using the 3.5GHz, 28GHz, and existing 5G spectrum. With the large capacity provided by 500 MHz bandwidth, the participants, racing team crew, committees involved, and customers around Jakarta E-Prix area can feel the immersive experience from the 5G technology.
President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Vikram Sinha, said “IOH is only a few months old since January 4, 2022, and we continue to play an active role in supporting the Government of Indonesia in national and international events together with our strategic partners. This is in line with our mission to deliver world-class digital experiences while continuing to connect and empower Indonesians. Head of Ericsson Indonesia, Jerry Soper, said, "The way we experience sports is constantly evolving, particularly when it comes to the technology involved. Research shows that consumers are ready for more immersive experiences and as we have demonstrated at the 2022 Jakarta E Prix, 5G is set to change the game entirely. Even as consumers will experience 5G along the circuit, Ericsson will power 5G use cases like 5G cloud gaming and Fitt 360 neckband camera experience”
In this event, IOH also launched the TravelOn Tourist Starter Card that provides a big data package of up to 20GB with an active period of up to 30 days for foreigners. With TravelOn, customers can make calls to 39 countries using 001 or 008, and to all operators in Indonesia at a rate of Rp1/second. Foreign customers only require around 15 minutes to activate the number and enjoy all the features. Supported by more than 206,000 IOH BTS across Indonesia, customers will be able to enjoy a world-class digital experience wherever they are.
"Through the Jakarta E-Prix 2022, Indonesia will be recognized even more and attract many tourists. TravelOn starter pack with special tourist packages, supported by IOH's integrated network, will provide a delightful and convenient experience for foreign customers in using digital telco services during their stay in Indonesia. Hopefully having these 5G services can also enrich Indonesia’s tourist attractions for foreigners," Vikram added.
