Ericsson ARTHUR contracted by the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense
Ericsson has received an order for the Weapon Locating System (WLS) ARTHUR from the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense. The systems will be delivered in 2004. The order is worth 50 million Euro.
ARTHUR WLS is the leading artillery weapon locating system for maneuver forces and Peace Support Operations. It is a highly mobile medium range weapon locating system (WLS), integrated on a single vehicle. Its main components are a C-band doppler radar with phased array antenna, data processing unit, two operator workstations, communication equipment and inertial navigation unit.
“That we now have received this order for ARTHUR confirms our good relationship with the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense and strengthens Ericsson’s position as a supplier within NATO. The order also acknowledge the excellent co-operation with our Hellenic industrial partner Intracom,” says Erik Lowenadler, newly appointed President of Ericsson Microwave Systems.
The order to Greece confirms ARTHUR’s position as the most modern and leading weapon locating system in the world.
