Ericsson to expand Kyivstar's GSM 900/1800 networks

Ukraine's leading mobile operator Kyivstar GSM has awarded Ericsson a supply and technical maintenance contract for its GSM 900 and 1800 networks.

According to the contract, Ericsson will deliver equipment to expand the coverage of the existing Kyivstar networks, including support and technical maintenance.

The signed contract provides for delivery and commissioning of new switching nodes, extensions of existing nodes, radio and transmission equipment including radio base stations. Deliveries under the contract started in January 2003.
