Through Svenska UMTS-Nät AB, operators TeliaSonera and Tele2 have the first and one of the absolute largest shared 3G network in the global telecommunications industry.

Svenska UMTS-Nät (Swedish UMTS Network Ltd.) is a joint venture between Tele2 and Telia with the purpose of building a UMTS network in Sweden.. Tele2 and Telia each own 50% of Svenska UMTS-Nät. Svenska UMTS-Nät will provide the basic UMTS network. Tele2 and Telia will develop products and provide services to consumers separately and independently. Svenska UMTS-Nät will not provide services to end customers.
