At 1 p.m. EST Monday, Ericsson President and Chief Executive Officer Carl-Henric Svanberg will host a media briefing (Room 252). In particular, Carl-Henric Svanberg will discuss Ericsson's strategy for Mobile Triple Play - mobile delivery of telephony, Internet and TV - that is quickly becoming a reality, enabled by the evolved version of Wideband CDMA (WCDMA) and CDMA2000 1X through Ericsson's HSDPA and 1xEV-DO solutions.
Carl-Henric Svanberg on keynote panel
On Tuesday, March 15, Carl-Henric Svanberg will participate in a keynote roundtable, where he and other industry representatives will look at the state of the wireless industry. The panel will be held from 9 to10:30 a.m. in Hall H.
HSDPA, WCDMA, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO and IMS demonstrations
Ericsson will demonstrate 11 Mbps high-speed data downloads and streaming applications (mobile-to-mobile and mobile-to-PC video telephony and streaming entertainment) over HSDPA phase 2 and a live WCDMA system. HSDPA, phase 2, increases the WCDMA system capacity and allows for peak rates up to 14 Mbps. Ericsson also will showcase its industry-leading CDMA2000 1xEV-DO system with live 2.4Mbps data downloads and streaming applications in only 1.5Mhz of spectrum.
Ericsson also will show true convergence with a suite of end-user services running concurrently over its commercially available IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) solution. Live demonstrations will highlight the benefits of network convergence using GSM/WCDMA/CDMA2000, wireline and WLAN.
Mobile Entertainment Summit
Ericsson also will be a prominent part of the Mobile Entertainment Summit, held Sunday, March 13, in conjunction with CTIA Wireless 2005. Ericsson Mobility World Vice President Kurt Sillén will deliver the afternoon keynote, "Take Your Brand Mobile - Lessons Learned and Outlook." Bjorn Zethraeus, Vice President and General Manager, IPX, for Ericsson will also present a case study entitled "MTV: Taking a TV Brand to the Mobile with Ericsson."
