Batelco explores the digital future at the Ericsson Imagine Studio in Sweden
Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) welcomed Bahrain Telecommunication Company BSC (Batelco) for a three-day tour of the Ericsson Imagine Studio in Kista, Sweden. Headed by Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Batelco Chairman, the Batelco delegation was welcomed by Börje Ekholm, Ericsson Chief Executive Officer, Fadi Pharaon, President of Ericsson Middle East and Africa, and other senior delegation from Ericsson.
At the Ericsson Imagine Studio, Ericsson presented multiple demos and innovative use cases that showcase products, solutions and visionary scenarios. During the visit the Batelco delegation enjoyed Ericsson’s digital experience ’Imagine Possible’ to explore the potential and power of limitless connectivity, considered various business offerings, and witnessed the potential of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in different sectors and industries. A network of Ericsson experts and partners also shared their knowledge on Ericsson’s vision, latest solutions and innovations across technologies like 4G, 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), and Digital Services.

Earlier this year Batelco and Ericsson signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore a range of 5G technologies to enhance its network capabilities. Since deploying commercial non-standalone 5G network in Bahrain in 2019, Ericsson and Batelco’s collaboration also works towards reducing network power consumption and developing solutions for smart and sustainable 5G networks.
