Canada’s Top 100 Corporate R&D Spenders

Ericsson Canada today was recognized by Research Infosource Inc., Canada’s source for research and development (R&D) intelligence, in Canada’s Top 100 Corporate R&D Spenders annual ranking for fiscal 2020.

“Ericsson Canada is a stalwart on the Canadian R&D scene. Year in and year out, the company is among the country’s corporate R&D leaders. Research Infosource salutes Ericsson’s contributions,” said Ron Freedman, CEO of Research Infosource Inc.

The annual ranking for R&D spending in fiscal 2020 saw Ericsson at 13th, up two places from last year.  In celebration its 20th anniversary, Research Infosource also highlighted two decades of corporate R&D in Canada, with Ericsson ranked seventh over the period.

Ericsson has been committed to Canada and ensuring digital inclusion for all Canadians since 1953. The company has invested more than $6.8 billion in R&D in Canada and continues to employ more than 2,800 people across the country, contributing more than 2,000 patents to the company’s 57,000 global patent portfolio. One of Forbes’ Top Canadian Employers since 2017, Ericsson Canada also works with more than twenty of the country’s top universities and colleges and helps lead a transformational Canada-Québec-Ontario partnership, called ENCQOR, to develop and test 5G solutions for consumers and enterprises.
