Ericsson appoints Fabián Monge as new Head of Customer Unit Latin America North and Caribbean

Ericsson is pleased to announce the appointment of Fabián Monge Muñoz as the new Customer Unit Head for Latin America North and Caribbean. With his extensive experience and proven track record in the technology and telecommunications industry, Fabián Monge is well-positioned to lead Ericsson's operations in one of the most diverse and dynamic regions in the world.
Latin America and the Caribbean is a key market area for Ericsson, encompassing more than 39 territories, 7 different languages, and 2 factories. Fabián Monge's appointment comes at a crucial time as the region continues to witness rapid advancements in digital transformation and the adoption of 5G networks.
Fabián Monge brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as the Acting Head of Customer Unit Latin America North and Caribbean, as well as the General Manager of the Ericsson Mexico Legal Entity. His executive and management positions in various business segments and geographies in Latin America, including his tenure as Vice President and General Manager for Central American legal entities, have equipped him with deep insights into the region's unique opportunities and challenges.
Prior to joining Ericsson, Fabián was actively involved in global technology companies and financial organizations including the National Bank of Costa Rica. He holds a master’s degree in business administration with a specialization in ICT and Digital Transformation, as well as specializations in wireless systems.
In his new role, Fabián Monge will lead Ericsson's efforts to promote the adoption of 5G networks in Latin America, with a focus on promoting innovation, strengthening competitiveness, and increasing productivity in the region. Mexico, as the first market in Latin America to have commercial 5G services, currently has over 10 million 5G users in 125 cities. As the deployment of 5G networks continues in Latin America, Fabián will work to create an environment conducive to the widespread adoption and utilization of 5G technology across the population, government, academia, and businesses.
