Digital Lab in South Africa

Ericsson Digital Lab in South Africa

In this story, we discover how the Ericsson Digital Lab was implemented by The Wot-if? Trust in South Africa with the aim to empower underprivileged children in the suburbs of Johannesburg with digital skills—giving them a brighter future.

In Diepsloot, an impoverished area in Johannesburg, children between the ages of 11 and 16 years old have been given a glimpse into the world of programming, robotics, game development, and electronics. The Digital Lab provides a hands-on learning environment for the children to be equipped with digital skills while having fun. Instructors work with the children in small groups to guide and encourage them to grow, earn, and contribute to their communities using technology.

Digital Lab in China

Ericsson Digital Lab in China

In this story, we dive into how Ericsson Digital Lab creates a hands-on learning environment for underprivileged children in 21 schools across China.

Underprivileged children between the ages of 11 and 16 are being introduced to the field of technology through the great work of 335 Ericsson Volunteers. At the Digital Lab, Ericsson Volunteers share their love of technology and inspire students to develop skills in programming, robotics, game development, AI, and electronics, opening up a world of possibilities.

Center of Excellence in India

Ericsson and TSSC Center of Excellence in Delhi, India

In this story, we explore how the Center of Excellence (CoE) is opening up new opportunities for the students at Delhi Skill & Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), India.

New digital skills requirements are being seen in India as the country accelerates connectivity with 5G networks, rapid smartphone and Internet of Things (IoT) device adoption, and digitalization across sectors. This is why Ericsson has partnered with the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) to help underserved students develop skills in 5G and emerging technologies. The program, in its first year, supports 300 students to cultivate digital skills and enter the telecom sector with job placement support, helping bridge the digital divide.
