Digital Lab in South Africa

Ericsson Digital Lab in South Africa

In this story, we discover how the Ericsson Digital Lab was implemented by The Wot-if? Trust in South Africa with the aim to empower underprivileged children in the suburbs of Johannesburg with digital skills—giving them a brighter future.

In Diepsloot, an impoverished area in Johannesburg, children between the ages of 11 and 16 years old have been given a glimpse into the world of programming, robotics, game development, and electronics. The Digital Lab provides a hands-on learning environment for the children to be equipped with digital skills while having fun. Instructors work with the children in small groups to guide and encourage them to grow, earn, and contribute to their communities using technology.
