Key findings June 2026

Globally, 5G subscriptions is now close to 3.3 billion, and half of the world’s mobile data traffic is carried over 5G. Mobile network data traffic continues to grow, rising 23 percent between Q2 2025 and Q2 2026. Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) adoption is increasing, with around 70 percent of FWA service providers offering the service over 5G. Looking to the horizon, 6G standardization discussions are ongoing and the first commercial services are anticipated to appear around 2030, varying between regions and countries.
