Ericsson-LG, New CEO appointed

Ericsson-LG announced that Hannes Ekström is appointed as new President and CEO as of October 1, 2022.
Ekström served as Ericsson's Vice President and Head of Strategy at Business Area Networks. He has extensive experience in the mobile industry having working in diverse roles at Ericsson during his more than 20 years at Ericsson.
He holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, and spent a lot of time in R&D and product management, where he was responsible for the Ericsson 5G product offering. He has also held various roles in pre-sales and sales areas in several countries, including work experience in Korea at the time 4G was introduced.
Hannes Ekström, Ericsson-LG’s new CEO, said, “From 4G to 5G, I have already gained a lot of work experience for the Korean market and customers. I will do my best to keep Korea at the forefront of 5G through our technological leadership.”
