Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) received the prestigious Best Telematics Service Provider award for its Connected Vehicle Cloud at the 2014 Telematics Update Awards ceremony held June 2 in Novi, MI. Judges noted Ericsson’s strong industry presence that is supported by a focus on new development and innovative use cases. The Annual Telematics Update Awards showcase achievement and innovation by established industry stars and newcomers. The tenth annual awards celebrated every vertical in the telematics industry, and the winners were chosen from more than 500 nominations from across the globe.

Volvo Car Group is using Connected Vehicle Cloud to connect drivers, owners and their vehicles to services available in the cloud via its ‘Sensus Connect.’ The onboard experience combines connected services, infotainment, navigation and audio. Connected Vehicle Cloud is also the platform behind AT&T Drive, an automotive cloud platform that combines telematics services, infotainment and connectivity with developer and partner access in a single cloud service.
