Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) today announced that its Service Innovation Framework has won a 2014 Mobility Tech Zone Product of the Year Award. The awards honor the development of technologies geared toward the evolution of an all-IP 4G wireless network, and are presented by Mobility Tech Zone, an online resource for the mobile broadband industry, sponsored by TMC and Crossfire Media.
With ever-increasing competition, customers expect mobile operators to offer a steady stream of new products with high quality levels. The introduction of a wide range of digital and M2M services requires collaborative development between operators and other parties such as content owners, developers and vertical industry players to create new and compelling offers in a timely manner.
Ericsson Service Innovation Framework addresses a complex set of emerging market trends to enable revenue-generating collaboration. Service agility is achieved by fusing Ericsson’s broad OSS/BSS and Service Enablement portfolio into a single framework that provides rapid and efficient innovation for fast service creation, as well as participation by approved business partners.
Elisabetta Romano, Vice President and Head of OSS and Service Enablement, Business Unit Support Solutions, Ericsson said: "As customer demands grow more diverse, new service offerings must be brought to market quickly to keep subscribers happy. Ericsson Service Innovation Framework is the industry’s first comprehensive and integrated solution that offers smooth collaboration, faster time-to-market, faster service delivery and cost efficiency of new-wave and more traditional mobile, consumer and enterprise services."
Operators must become agile in order to offer complex and individualized bundles across providers and networks. Ericsson helps operators push the limits of innovation to meet changing demands with a comprehensive, unified OSS and BSS product suite that combines business, IT and network capabilities. A team of more than 61,000 service professionals supports these offerings across consulting and systems integration, managed services and product-related services, such as network rollout, customer support and broadcast services. Ericsson’s market leadership is underscored by the company’s breakthrough work with customers to improve the subscriber experience, capture new revenues and boost business efficiencies. As a result, Ericsson remains positioned for ongoing success, driven by the continually surging demand for data services.
