Ericsson takes seat on ONOS board

Ericsson is to take a seat on the Open Network Operating System (ONOS) board. ONOS is an open source carrier-grade SDN Network Operating System for service providers and mission critical networks. Anita Frisell, Vice President & Head of Architecture & Technology for Development in Network Analytics & Control, will be Ericsson’s representative on the board.

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) has today announced that it is taking a seat on the board of ONOS, the collaborative industry project aimed at creating SDN solutions for the service provider community.

Anita Frisell, Vice President and Head of Architecture & Technology for Development in Network Analytics & Control, will be Ericsson’s representative on the board.

Anita Frisell says: “The direct participation of and engagement with major Tier 1 service provider participation in this project will make sure that the use cases that we focus on are in line with their needs, priorities and timelines.”

Among others, Ericsson is also a member of ON.Lab and a founding member of the OpenDaylight project, an open platform for network programmability.
