Cloud Container Distribution
Until recently, telco applications were packaged, managed, and orchestrated as virtual machines (VMs) and deployed on cloud infrastructure solutions. Now containers have become popular because they provide a lighter, more portable packaging alternative as part of cloud native deployments.
Ericsson Cloud Container Distribution manages and orchestrates all containerized applications deployed in Ericsson products. The solution is based on Kubernetes, the open source container orchestration platform that has become a de-facto industry standard. To Kubernetes, Ericsson Cloud Container Distribution adds components to manage ingress, networking, storage, monitoring, and more.
Ericsson Cloud Container Distribution is included in our NFVI and Cloud Native Infrastructure system verified solutions to ensure fast TTM for telco grade deployments.
Open
We propagate our software contributions upstream so that the entire community benefits from them and they are more widely adopted. After releasing them to the community, where they become integrated with the rest of the distribution, we download the resulting capabilities into our product. We provide extensibility through the public interface to our components.
Optimized for telco workloads
Ericsson Cloud Container Distribution clusters are configured for telco workloads. An installer configures each cluster with networking plug-ins such as Calico and Multus that provide the capabilities most needed by telco applications. These clusters are pre-configured with high availability. Ericsson Cloud Container Distribution is CNCF certified to ensure compatibility with the larger cloud native landscape.
World class support
Ericsson support extends to our open source software. It is available across the globe and provides world-class expertise and guidance for Ericsson Cloud Container Distribution cluster setup, configuration, operation, and administration so service providers can operate with optimal efficiency.
