Ericsson's North American Head Angel Ruiz Wins Tech Titan CEO Award

• Honored for his leadership within the technology and communications industry in North Texas
• Recognized for creating jobs, securing breakthrough contracts and inspiring employees
• Presented at Metroplex Technology Business Council Tech Titans’ Award Gala

Angel Ruiz, who has been at the helm of Ericsson’s North American operations since 2001, has been presented the Tech Titan CEO Award by the Metroplex Technology Business Council, the largest technology trade association in Texas. He was honored for making significant contributions to the industry and the North Texas area during the past year.

Since assuming his position in 2001, Ruiz has guided Ericsson through industry bubbles, economic recessions and fierce competition to become the number one provider of telecommunications solutions in North America. Ericsson had 3,400 employees in North America when Ruiz took over. Today, that number is over 16,000.

“I’m very grateful for this honor, but the award really belongs to our employees, who I believe are the best in the business,” said Angel Ruiz. “They are the ones who will drive the future leadership of Ericsson and the industry.”

Ericsson’s North American headquarters are in Plano; the company also has a significant presence in Richardson, Texas.

Ruiz is a resident of Frisco, Texas.
